Chefs, baristas, maitre des, waiters and brunch-goers of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to the second annual summary of where these two Brunch Addicts have taken you in 2012. Snapping up decor and delicious food to give you the best food photography we can provide, 2012 has been one big and exciting year. It was the year Miss SL had to forego her beloved soy lattes for espresso in line with a healthy diet she was trying for a month – and was converted! She was away travelling for over 4 months of the year, travelling to both Perth and Europe but stayed committed to the Melbourne brunch scene. Mr LB held down the Brunch Addict forte, enjoying (and lamenting) the bachelor lifestyle. He took over image touch-ups to bring you some of our sexiest photos to date.

The year 2012 was also the first year that we experienced the Taste of Melbourne food festival, which we have discovered is really, really fun! We saw demonstrations on how to make Goat Head tacos from the good people at Mamasita, watched Poh (from Poh’s Kitcen, Masterchef) do an Asian style cook-up and enjoyed a sake tasting session. We also enjoyed a couple of express lunches at the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, enjoying an exquisite three-course meal at Pearl restaurant before they closed later in the year as well as intimate French restaurant Embrasse.

In terms of food we consumed a whopping 56 brunches in 2012, with 28 of them including a cheeky brunch-dessert. We drank a total of 80 drinks (including beverages, milkshakes and other random liquid goodies!), of which 56 of them were coffee orders.. looks like we were well hydrated during our brunching sessions!!
